Located on the banks of the Murray river on the Victorian border, Christies Beach is located around five minutes from the popular town of Echuca. Christies Beach offers all the benefits of a camping ground on the banks of the Murray, including swimming, fishing and boating. Christies Beach is extremely popular in the warmer months as it is one of the only camping grounds on the Murray that has toilets.

 

Access

The Christies Beach camping ground is a little bit tricky to access. The turnoff to the camping ground is located around 8km from Echuca. Take a left on Looker road and work your way through the numerous tracks heading towards the Murray.The road in should not be accessed using a 2WD after heavy rains.

 

Best Spot

The campground offers around fifty individual campsites so there is plenty of choice. All the campsites are very similar and there is no individual site that is more appealing than any other. You will need to be quick in the warmer months to get a campsite at Christies Beach.

Activities

Given the location of the Christies Beach campground, it offers numerous activities. Activities available for campers include fishing and swimming in the Murray river, and all other water based activities. A boat can be launched via the beach but there is no dedicated boat ramp.

 

Best Time To Go

Given the campground is located on the banks of the Murray river, it is recommended that the campground is visited during the warmer months. The campground is not subject to flooding given its elevation in relation to the water level. There are plenty of shaded campsites for those hot summer days.
