Whilst we don’t often showcase paid campsites, this campsite has it all for a modest fee. From fire barrels to a boat ramp to a dumping station. Located 15km southwest of the popular tourist town Strahan, Macquarie Heads is a must to visit when touring the west coast.
The Macquarie Heads camping ground is extremely easy to access. From Strahan, take Ocean Beach Road and turn left onto the C251 for 11km. The road into the campsite is a 9.7km gravel road that can easily be accessed by a two-wheel drive and caravan.
The camping ground offers well over one hundred individual campsites. Given the plethora of options, grab any spot and you will enjoy yourself.
The beach access is a real winner at this campsite. For this reason, 4WD motorbiking on the beach is a really popular pastime. Fishing, boating and swimming are also really good options, as the inlet provides a nice sheltered spot.
Best Time To Go
The proximity of the campground to the beach makes it more appropriate to visit this campsite in the warmer months.
