While we were reluctant to add this campsite to our website, due to the ordinary quality, we feel that campers should still be aware of its existence. Located near the Waterhouse passage on the northeastern coast of Tasmania, the Big Waterhouse Lake campground offers all the benefits of a campground on a lake, including boating.
The Big Waterhouse camping ground is reasonably easy to access. Turn north off B82, 27km northeast of Bridport onto Homestead road. Then turn left after 4.3km for 2.5km. The combined 7km road into the campsite is a gravel road that can easily be accessed by a two-wheel drive and caravan.
The camping ground offers around five individual campsites. There is really no preferred spot at this campground.
A boat ramp about 500m away provides a launching pad for watercraft, but there isn’t too much else to do around the camping ground.
Best Time To Go
As with most of the campsites located in Tasmania, we recommend you visit this one in the warmer months.
