Located near the small town of Tullah in the quiet western midlands, Lake Mackintosh is a nice little spot tucked away on the lake.
The Lake Mackintosh camping ground is extremely easy to access. From Tullah take Mackintosh Dam road, with the campsite approximately 6km north of the dam wall. The campsite is unavailable when the dam wall spills. The road into the campsite is a bitumen road that can easily be accessed by a two-wheel drive and caravan. The only restriction is that the campsite can only be visited for a maximum of 7 days.
The camping ground offers only around five individual campsites and most are rocky so grab the best spot available.
The boat ramp and dam make a great combination to launch a boat, do a bit of swimming, or fishing.
Best Time To Go
As the road into the campsite can get pretty wet in the winter months, it is best to visit this location in the dryer months.
