Located on the Murray River in southeastern South Australia, Hunter Reserve is located in the picturesque town of Swan Reach. Hunter Reserve offers all the benefits of a camping ground on a river, including swimming, fishing and boating. The porta-potty disposal unit is a useful facility available here.
The Hunter Reserve camping ground is very easy to access. The camping ground is located 500m from the Swan Reach ferry, on the west side of the river. The road into the camping ground is bitumen and can easily be accessed by a two-wheel drive and caravan.
The camping ground offers around forty to fifty individual campsites. All individual campsites are a stone’s throw from the river and all offer a great night’s camping.
Given the location of the Hunter Reserve campground, it offers numerous activities. Activities available for campers include fishing, swimming and boating in the river. Although there is no actual boat ramp, the river bank offers the ability to launch small watercraft. The Jetty is also a useful asset of the camping ground.
Best Time To Go
Given the campground is located on the river, it is recommended that the campground is visited during the warmer months.
